This is one of my favorite things to do before traveling. It’s all part of my research process. Whether you’re visiting a place for the 1st time or the 10th time, you’re bound to find mesmerizing shots that others have captured from angles you didn’t think/know of before. Even cities that I’ve called home for an extensive period of time (i.e. London, Berlin, Paris…), I still always find unique pictures from various vantage points that create such different compositions. While trying to recreate those photos from my own lens, I always end up finding new vantage points and settings that produce just as amazing pictures. On rooftops, on restaurant terraces, at sunset, at the break of dawn, with different props, with various shutter speeds…the inspiration is endless.
