Travel Tip #2: If traveling to London, arrange for a private pre-booked taxi, instead of getting a black cab at the airport.

London is expensive. There is absolutely no doubt about that. But there are certain ways to save money, such as arranging a pre-hired taxi beforehand, instead of using a black cab at the airport. The first few times, not knowing the difference between the two, I ended up paying 60GBP from Heathrow to my place in Maida Vale, but with a pre-arranged taxi, it only cost 36GBP. Another thing to look out for is that if you’re traveling anywhere out of Zone 1, book a neighborhood taxi that services your specific area for better rates. But anywhere in Zone 1, it doesn’t matter what company you choose.
