is waiting for you at In-N-Out, a delicious, amazing, fabulous, regional fast food chain that is the pride of the West Coast, particularly California, and that often leaves tourists or East Coasters pining for more. A bold statement, I’m fully aware, but it’s the one thing I crave when I’m abroad. The cooked-to-order burgers are made with beef from Southwest ranches and are served with hand-cut fries. For a messier, more indulgent experience, order off the “secret menu” and ask for your burger “Animal Style” (extra sauce and chopped grilled onions and pickles). You’ll never be able to look at regular burgers the same way again.
It’s the only place I’ve seen that has less than 10 items on their menu, yet is always crowded at any time of the day. It’s usually open until 1 am, and the crowd continues to pop in until 12:59 am. If you’re vegetarian, fret not, you can still get a load of its awesomeness by asking for a veggie or a grilled cheese sandwich; you’ll have to request it as it’s not on their menu. Another thing not on the menu is the neapolitan shake (a mixture of strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla ice cream). A must try! (in-n-out.com)
